Green Dinosaur Drink Recipe

I first had the pleasure of drinking a Green Dinosaur at a bar in Norfolk, Virginia. I can't remember its name. It's very potent, but tastes great and goes down smooth. It tastes very similar to Mountain Dew soft drinks.

I really enjoyed the cocktail, so I looked up how to make a Green Dinosaur drink recipe. It requires more ingredients than a lot of mixed drink recipes, but it's totally worth it! There are many variations, but below is my version of a Green Dinosaur cocktail drink.

Here is how I make a Green Dinosaur mixed drink recipe:

Green Dinosaur Ingredients:
A shot glass each of:
gin, Midori, rum, Sprite or 7UP, sweet and sour mix, triple sec, and vodka

Stir all Green Dinosaur drink ingredients together.

Serve in a highball glass with ice cubes. You can add a garnish of mint leaves for some added class.

There are other Green Dinosaur drink variations, but I think the Green Dinosaur drink recipe above is the best. I experimented with many different Green Dinosaur drinks before I settled on the best one. The Sprite and 7UP are interchangeable, but I prefer Sprite. Dark rum also is best.

Some of the other Green Dinosaur drinks include tequila instead of gin and/or Mountain Dew, lemonade or pineapple juice as a substitute for Sprite. A few don't use triple sec and/or a sour mix. So, this cocktail drink recipe can definitely be changed up to suit your preferences. Use whatever you happen to have on hand  that matches the above ingredients or use the ingredients you like best.

Midori, by the way, is a green colored liqueur. Midori liqueur is made in Mexico. It tastes like honeydew melons. Some classic drinks made with Midori are Sex on the Beach, Melon Ball cocktail drink, Midori Sour, Watermelon Martinis, and Midori Margaritas.

Here is how to make a classic Melon Ball cocktail drink:

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add 1 ounce of vodka and 2 ounces of Midori. Fill the rest of the glass up with orange or pineapple juice.
