How to Save $100 in a Month

Save Money With These Tips
If you need to save money quickly, try out these money-saving strategies. Choose just one of these things to do this month and put an extra $100 in your pockets. Of course, this isn't an exact figure. It all depends on how far you want to take it and how extravagant you were in the first place. You probably can't even use all of the money-saving tips. Still, if just one reverberates within your soul and you act on it, consider yourself $100 richer in 30 days. And here are the ways to save $100 in a month.
Save Money on Recreation
For a month, skip your night out at the movies every weekend. With most movie tickets almost $10 and the obligatory popcorn and monster soda, you've already spent about $20. Kick in the cost of gas at almost $4 a gallon, and that's probably easily $25 spent for two hours entertainment. It adds up even more if you pay for more than one ticket or eat out before or after the movie.
Instead, spend the night watching cable. Isn't that why you are paying for all of those channels? Make yourself some homemade popcorn. If you buy the old-fashioned kind, it's virtually free. If you don't go to the movies, substitute some other form of recreation that you do regularly that isn't free.
Save Money on Junk Food
Next on the list of money saving tips is reducing the amount of sodas that you drink daily. I personally used to drink about six cans of soda every day. Sodas at the vending machine and convenience stores cost over a dollar each. That adds up to over 100 dollars in a month's worth of work weeks. (Wow, that's a tongue twister.) That doesn't even count what I spend on weekends drinking soda at home. Don't drink soda? Substitute your favorite latte or energy drink instead.
Save Money With Food
Substitute at least one meal a week with something cheap. Make a meatless meal. Serve a large pasta salad. Make homemade soup-it's amazingly cheap. Make an entree out of beans. To save even more money, eat food that is literally free. What I mean by this is actually eat your leftovers. Don't put them in containers and stash them to die in your refrigerator.

Great hub! In today's day and age, saving money is a hot topic. Foreclosure, increasing gas prices, decreasing value of dollar, etc. Good topic!
Great hub, Cant save on restaurant or film outings as never go but most helpful for those who do. Yes everyone can save money if they think before putting hands into bagsor purses. We always paid our bills and never bought what we could not pay for.
Too many spend without money and live on credit alone. No wonder they have gray hairs at a young age....

Great hub! I've found that saving money really isn't that difficult...you just have to WANT to do it. And a lot of times if you just think small, you'll find lots of ways to cut corners and save a little here and there, which adds up after a while.
