McDonald's Restaurant Background

Mcdonald's copycat recipes are easy and inexpensive to make. Mcdonalds, or Mickey Ds, is the largest fast food restaurant franchise in the world. Famous for the Big Mac cheeseburger and its special sauce, the golden arches are recognized around the globe.

The first McDonald's restaurant was opened in the 1940s by two brothers in California. Dick and Mac McDonald perfected the quick, efficient service that became a business model for restaurants everywhere. The fast food restaurant era was born.

Although not the healthiest diet choice, who doesn't love Mcdonald's fries or a Big Mac with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun? If you just can't get enough of Mcdonald's fast food, try some of these Mcdonalds' recipe clones such as Mcdonalds shakes, Mcdonalds breakfast burrito, or a Mcdonald's Big 'n Tasty sandwich.

Even as clones, I'll bet these all taste better than Mickey D's fast food fare. So many of their items have gone down hill in recent years. There's not much I eat there anymore

Angela Harris 4 years ago

Dad, I so agree. I was craving a Big Mac the other day and was too lazy to make a clone. I ended up throwing it away after just a couple of bites. I don't know if the quality has lessened or if I've just started to enjoy healthier food more.

Hi Angela. I love the big mac sauce recipe i simply adore it.

What I have noticed is here in England the sauce isnt as creamy tasting as in the USA is the uk recipe different in some way I wonder.

I know "maccy d" isnt the best in the world but I must say that the US version is by far better than what we have here in the UK.

Keep on coming up with these recipes they're great and the kids love them too!!!

The ice coffee is just 3x the strength of regular coffee.. So depending how much you can drink in one day (8hrs shelf life) it is same portion coffee as ice.. Then has a 30min wait.. Poured over ice.. For the flavors it is 4oz per 21oz cup... (confusing? I hope not)

McChicken® Ingredients

SPECIAL TOOLS: Deep fryer; meat mallet

INGREDIENTS:

vegetable oil (in fryer)

1 egg

1 cup water

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup tempura mix

(or 1/3 cup flour for a total of 1 cup if tempura mix is unavailable)

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Accent®

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

4 chicken breast filets

4 sesame seed hamburger buns

1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce

McChicken® sauce:

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1/16 teaspoon onion powder

Stir together well, refrigerate until needed.

Preparing your McChicken® Sandwich

1. Beat the egg and then combine it with 1 cup water in a small, shallow bowl. Stir.

2. Combine the flour, salt, pepper, Accent®, onion powder and garlic powder in a one gallon size zip lock bag.

3. Pound each of the breast filets with a mallet until about 1/4-inch thick. Trim each breast filet until it is round.

4. Coat each filet with the flour mixture by shaking in the zip lock bag.

5. Remove and dredge each filet in the egg mixture, coating well. Then return each filet to the flour/seasoning mixture. Shake to coat. Put filets, bag and all, in the freezer for at least an

hour. Cover and refrigerate remaining egg mixture.

6. After freezing, repeat the "coating" process.

7. Deep fry the chicken filets at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until light brown and crispy.

8. As the chicken is frying, toast the buns using the standard method described in cooking regular hamburgers.

9. On the crown side of the bun, apply 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise mixture, followed by 1/4 cup chopped iceberg lettuce. Then top with the cooked chicken patty, and the heel of the

bun.

10. Wrap tightly in a 12x16 piece of waxed paper, and let stand 6-8 minutes.

11. Microwave on high, individually, for 15 seconds and serve.

Personal suggestion: CHEESE IT! With real American cheese, one slice, between the patty and the heel.
