These Schnauzer pictures remind me of a time in my childhood when I lived on a farm that trained German police dogs. The dogs were kept in a kennel when not being trained. All of them were German police dogs except for two Giant Schnauzers. I wasn't frightened of any of the dogs, but the Giant Schnauzers were always the most aggressive out of all of the dogs when they were in the kennels. That memory has always stuck with me for some reason.

I don't know how we ended up with a Schnauzer mix, but somehow we did. He looks so similar to the Giant Schnauzers of my childhood, but he's much smaller. His name is Puppy, and Puppy has completely changed my previously skewed opinion of Schnauzers. Based on my earlier experiences with Schnauzers, I didn't really like the dog breed. But Puppy has proven to be the best dog that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is very smart and protective, loyal, and affectionate. My life has truly been enriched by having Puppy around.

Because Puppy isn't a full-blooded Schnauzer, I had to find other Schnauzer pictures to illustrate the distinctive appearance of Schnauzer dogs, and hopefully to show some of the Schnauzer personality as well.

My Puppy Mixed Breed Dog - Part Schnauzer

Puppy doesn't look much like a Schnauzer dog here. But when he is groomed properly, he looks a lot like a Schnauzer. And Puppy definitely has the Schnauzer wiry coat and personality.

Oh, I am just loving this Hub! I have a Schnauzer/poodle mix. He's little and black - when his hair grows out it turns gray, hence his name: Earl. Some of those photos look so much like him! Thanks for the great pictures and all. Steph

Angela! My best friend Missy was a standard Schnauzer. It was three years this past January that I lost her. She was 13.5 years old. No matter how many other animals are in my life right now, even though I love them all somehow none come close to the bond that my Missy girl and I had. Thanks for sharing these great pictures. They brought back some sweet memories from when Missy was just a little mischievous fistful, to when she became that special friend who is still missed.

i have three minature snauzers..ashlee, coach and mason..they are the love of my life..each with there own personalitties..such a joy..and very funny!..i have six dogs and ahthough i love them all..my snauzers win my heart for sure!

I have a mixed labrador and schnauzer and his really adorable, very inteligent and loving. I adopted him 8 years ago from a couple who are both working. His name is Max mixture of black labrador, so as you can imagine his very gentle and loving to my children. I never regret adopting him, he gives me fullfillment during time of sadness. I have two Miniature Schnauzers, who own my heart. Boone is 6 yr old and a diabetic. Scooter is 2 1/2 and we rescued her from a neglect/abuse situation when she was 9 mons old. Boone is my Service Dog. I whole-heartedly reccommend all three breeds as Service Dogs; they have all the requirements and all the heart. You don't own a Schnauzer, they own you!

We just adopted a Schnauzer/ Lab (?) puppy from the local humane society- He's 11 weeks old and he's got "huge" paws. Possibly a giant Schnauzer??? He's so smart- We brought him home yesterday afternoon, gave him a bath- he sat for the hair dryer and the brush- had one accident near the door- and has made it outside every time! He's already walking an the leash and has learned sit- I've never had a dog pick things up so quickly.

I am a HUGE fan of mini schnauzers![: I am also looking to be an artist. I began drawing my dog, after maybe 20 trys, you could finally tell what kind of dog it was (Barley). I just kept trying, and now im kind of good. Hope i helped! ;D Best of luck, fellow schnauzer owner!

Hello not sure if anyone can help but I own a German Shnauzer. My Family & I are interested in crossing our Pepperred female with a White Scottish Terrier. Anyone think they will look nice? Worth breeding?

Correction the White Scottish Terrier I mentioned is not one. It is a "White Schnauzer"..? I think they call it?

I will have to get pictures of the two but if anyone has any idea if the dogs will look nice please inform. Thanks allot & Peace2you!

I bought a pup schnauzer from birth, 13 years ago, and he is such a happy go lucky boy, (he lives for his food, and planning his next escape from my garden which he does every week, and comes home looking like a propper scruff) However, he is a old boy now, and his age is showing, its upsetting to see him as he has gone from a active dog to almost incapacitated, he can only just walk around the garden its hard to know whats best for him, my heart says keep him happy for the rest of his days, and my head tells me to take him to the vets for a sleeping jab and let him keep dignaty, its such a massive dilemer,
