Calorie shifting diets are the latest rage in weight loss circles. If you follow the calorie shifting diet plans, it is supposed to be possible to lose about 5 pounds a week. Sounds too good to be true? How does calories shifting work? What is calorie shifting? These questions are answered below.

What Can You Eat on a Calorie Shifting Diet?

One thing that a calorie shifting diet is NOT is a crash diet. You also don't have to eat weird foods, yucky foods, or commence on a radical diet change, such as a raw diet or a vegan diet. On the calorie shifting diet plan, people can eat most of the foods they want to eat. About the only foods that are off limits are high calorie, greasy fast foods. You can even drink soda and coffee. Most other diets restrict sodas and a lot of them ban caffeine, too.

How Often Do You Eat With Calorie Shifting?

As a matter of fact, on a calorie shifting diet, you may eat more than you are normally used to eating! One of the main calorie shifting diet guidelines is that you eat at least 4 times every day. No snacks are allowed in between. Each meal consists of a complete meal, not just a boiled egg or something like that.

Basic Calorie Shifting Diet Guidelines

Another rule of the calorie shifting diet that is strongly recommended is to drink at least 10, yes 10, glasses of water every day as well. This is supposed to be one of the processes that makes the diet plan successful. Supposedly, the water speeds up the metabolism and also speeds up the digestion of all that food. This in turn causes greater and faster weight loss.

Each meal contains different amounts of calories. This is how the diet got its name 'calorie shifting'. This so-called calorie shifting keeps the body always guessing when and how much food is coming. So it causes your metabolism to increase and the body to burn fat more efficiently.

These are basically the main premises of the calorie shifting diet plan: eat 4 or more meals each day, each meal has varying amounts of calories, and drink at least 10 glasses of water each day. That's it in a nutshell!

Does the Calorie Shifting Diet Work?

Does the calorie shifting diet work? Honestly, I don't know. I just heard about it in the gym recently. But considering it should be easy to follow and it doesn't have any dangerous dietary recommendations, I don't see why it wouldn't be worth trying out.

I would think they want you to exercise each day as well? 4 normal sized-meals, anything you want? interesting and controversial but I'd like that :-)
