White Russian Recipe
White Russian Drink With Ice
White Russian Recipe Is a Favorite
A White Russian drink is a very popular cocktail. It has become even more popular after it was featured in the cult classic movie, "The Big Lebowski".
Okay, so I'm a sucker for anything containing Kahlua liqueur. It's decadent. So a White Russian recipe is possibly my favorite cocktail drink. The combination of flavors is so delicious that it is impossible to turn down. Who can resist chocolate coffee with cream? That is what a White Russian drink tastes like to me.
The next great thing about a White Russian recipe is that a White Russian drink is incredibly easy to make.
White Russian Ingredients
- 3/4 ounces each - vodka and Kahlua liqueur
- 1 1/2 ounces cream or milk
- ice cubes, optional
White Russian Recipe
A White Russian recipe is simple and making a White Russian drink is very easy. Just mix together the vodka and Kahlua in an old-fashioned glass. Then float the cream or milk on top last.
Ice cubes aren't necessary, but can be used. White Russian drinks are best served in chilled glasses, though.

Yummy! I love White Russians! I have to go to the liquor store for the ingredients. Great hub!
Sally's Trove, you made my day knowing that my hub created a nice memory inspired conversation. Thank you for a bit of trivia on White Russians. Please tell your mother thank you and also that I like her taste in cocktail drinks. ;) I believe I will try a skinny straw the next time I want a White Russian.

The wife and I are dieting, so a little waistline-friendlier version is two oz.vodka and one each of Kahlua and cream or half-and-half. Still delicious!
the dude abides
thanks for the recipe! and the vegan version of this can still be quite tasty--use soy or Silk creamer instead o' milk--whether to save calories or cows or both! Still abiding...: )
@Darla I liked your vegan variation as well as the original. But do you know what happens to cows when you don't milk them? Bad things. Cows aren't hurt by us milking them!

I just shared your recipe with my mother, who loves white Russians. She asked me to tell you that in her day, people would order a white Russian, layered just the way you described, and sip it through a cocktail straw. Popular opinion had it that when you drink it through that skinny straw, sucking up all the alcohol first, you get a quicker high. Nice job, Angela. My mother and I had a lot of fun talking about white Russians this morning!
